Project Based Learning is a teaching methodology where students must face real life situations without the aid of the teacher. These students undertake an in-depth study of a given problem with the aid of the tools most representative of the 21st century: collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. Its final aim is to provide a comprehensive learning model which can produce satisfactory results to contribute to our community or society. Next, we present a proposal based on Literary Project Based Learning used in the ESL classroom. It will help us to enhance the development of language skills and the integration of the benefits derived from this methodology in everyday. The proposal makes use of R.M. Gilete’s The Explorer of the Chest fantasy novel.
