This study analyzed different kinds of teaching activities in a French course at a university. At the end of the semester, we made a survey of the students´ opinions about their motivations for and interest in studying the subject, the usefulness of the activities and the extent to which it deepened their knowledge of French. A quantitative analysis of the data showed that these learners mainly enjoyed the games and contests and traditional classroom activities, followed, in descending order, by oral exercises, songs and written exercises. The activities they least appreciated were the virtual exercises and those which mainly focused on textbooks.
